Gone is the day when we hopped from one shop to the other for a
bargain, when discounts came with an extra panipuri treat. Though
INDIA is still the world’s 5th largest retail marketplace. And it
contributes around 10% to the GDP,still, the upcoming generation
would never taste the market scenes. Technology, pandemic,
urbanization, high living standards all have led to challenges for the
retailers. Let’s look into some of them.

URBANIZATION
• People from villages migrate to urban areas for good income,
urban people get divided into two section selling the correct
product get difficult
• Higher living standards, higher pay scale leads to higher luxury
needs, markets replaced with malls, supermarkets more
organized sectors drape the retail market.

THE YOUTH
• The youth is tech-savvy and moneyliscious since teenage.
• They are getting opportunities to earn at an early age, spending
most on electronics, apparel, and other accessories.

TECHNOLOGY
• In this era online modes are getting more and more popular,
people are preferring cashless, home delivery services.
• Easy and hassle-free processing and good discounts all in one
place. These all are provided by online platforms causing completion for the retail market.

So the retail market encompasses traditional strategies with hoarding
boards, direct offers, etc, while digital marketing involves Facebook
ads, Instagram stories, email campaigns, etc. which is more influential
and has a higher growth rate.
Using social media wisely would improve your branding, A well-made marketing strategy with active performance can increase your branding opportunities and attract your customers.
